Kendra Bylsma

Owner, Lead Coach

Kendra is a mom, wife and fitness enthusiast!  A native to Grand Rapids, she graduated from Calvin College with a BA in Exercise Science and played 4 years of collegiate basketball. She was recently nominated as a Distinguished Alumni and provides oversight and direction to all the corporate coaching models, product development and producing “one of a kind” results as a personal trainer.   She does a variety of community presentations and corporate consulting in addition to teaching group fitness and 1-1 training’s at the studio.  She started Allegro Coaching in 2009 with a goal to help clients transform their lives and their mindset through fitness.

Amanda 2017

Amanda Blackburn

General Manager, Health Coach & Group Instructor Guru

Amanda has over 17 years of management experience in the health and wellness field. She received her degree in Health Science from Grand Valley State University where she played soccer both on the women’s team as well as co-ed intramurals.   Her passion for sports/fitness led her into the wellness field, but after five major knee surgeries, her athletic career came to an end.  Amanda’s positive attitude doesn’t let her knee issues prevent her from staying active and strong though, as you’ll see her jumping around in class!

Amanda enjoys leading small group sessions and teaching large group fitness classes.  Amanda holds multiple certifications with AFAA, High Fitness, Les Mills,  R.I.P.P.E.D., TRX and SCW and currently teaches Les Mills BODYPUMP™, Boxing, Circuit Training, Les Mills CXWORX™, Les Mills GRIT™ Series, HIGH Fitness, Strength and TRX at the studio.

Tiffany Karger

Wellness Coach

Tiffany graduated from Calvin College with a degree in Exercise Science and was also a  member of the women’s basketball team. She is certified through NASM as a Certified Personal Trainer and is also a Level 1 Functional Movement Screening Specialist.

Tiffany enjoys building relationships with individuals of all ages and fitness levels. Her main goal as a trainer is to help others achieve the best version of themselves physically and mentally.

Melissa 2017

Melissa Hembrough

Personal Trainer, Health Coach & Group Fitness Instructor

Melissa grew up in northern Michigan where she excelled in basketball, volleyball & softball. Playing sports year-round began a foundation for fitness, eventually turning it into a passion and desire to help others reach their own health and fitness goals. Melissa is an ACE certified personal trainer and also certified in TRX, LESMILLS BODYPUMP, GRIT, and High Fitness! In her current role as a personal trainer with Allegro, Melissa enjoys pushing clients to be their best by setting an example in her own personal fitness. She practices what she preaches and expects her clients to follow suit. This busy mom of two teens loves going to the beach with her family and watching movies.  Her goal for her family is the same as it is for her clients – to help give them practical information to live healthy and establish disciplines to make that a reality.

Marnie Linna

Personal Trainer/Health Coach/Group Fitness Instructor

Marnie is a Personal Trainer and Health Coach at Allegro. Marnie is a NASM certified Personal Trainer and Spin instructor, with over 10 years in the fitness industry. She is a west coast native, having spent most of her life in Colorado. Marnie loves being outdoors hiking, cycling, trail running or relaxing at the beach and is passionate that fitness should be fun!

Michelle Dawes

Corporate Wellness Coordinator

Coach Michelle has diverse experience in health and wellness. She earned an MS in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University and has extensive experience in a range of group fitness classes including cycling, Pilates, yoga, strength, TRX, kettlebell and circuit type classes. While Michelle comes from a fitness background, she is passionate about holistic health and wellness, believing that thriving includes a healthy body, mind, and spirit, which has led to her become a Wellcoaches Certified Health Coach! As a health and wellness coach, Michelle strives to help clients develop “tools” to create sustainable behavior and/ or mindset changes by focusing on the positives, utilizing client’s strengths, helping clients discover their intrinsic motivation, and aiding clients in moving toward their wellness vision through SMART goals.

Christina Abraham

Corporate Wellness Coordinator

Coach Christina comes from a very well rounded background in health and wellness. Coming from a corporate career in communications, Christina went on to become a certified personal trainer and complete an MS degree in health and wellness management. She has experience teaching a number of group fitness classes including TRX, Kettlebell, strength, and circuit classes. She also completed a 200-hour yoga teaching certification with an emphasis on meditation and holistic medicine in Peru. Her approach to health coaching incorporates all aspects of holistic wellness stretching beyond the traditional facets of fitness and nutrition. Christina is passionate about encouraging people to take the first step to create sustainable change in their lives.

Chad Steininger

Personal Trainer/ Health Coach/ Group Fitness Instructor

Chad earned his BS in Therapeutic Recreation at Calvin University (formally Calvin College). While working as an Activity Therapist, Chad gained a deeper love and passion for health and wellness. Through his self-exploration to gain greater quality of life and seeing his own health improve, he discovered his true passion for helping others work towards their goals of health and wellness. Chad is a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM. He also is a group instructor, Certified in Schwinn and Core de Force (kickboxing). Chad also loves to teach strength and HIIT classes.
He is an avid cook and loves spending time in the kitchen cooking for his family and friends and sharing his latest creations.
He loves being outdoors playing sand volleyball and soaking up the sun at the beach and swimming in the lake with his family.

Katolo is certified through the National Strength Professionals Association (NSPA)and National Council for
Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT), recently adding in certification through the American College of Sports Medicine in personal training.

Katolo is also a Les Mills certified instructor in Bodystep, Bodypump and RPM. He has been training and teaching group fitness classes since 2005. Katolo regards fitness as an important part of life, and agrees 100 percent with the quote “Fitness is the beginning of everything people want in life”. He sees fitness as a lifestyle. His goal is to promote healthy lifestyles with everyone he comes into contact with and to create life-changing experiences. His passion is the help individuals reach their full potential and achieve their fitness goals, whatever they may be.

Lisa Brennan

Group Fitness Instructor

Lisa’s love for physical movement started as a child.  Her passion for healthy living and leading group fitness classes started in 1987 when she gained employment at a Power House Gym in Saginaw, Michigan.

Since then, she has completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees and obtained certifications through ACE, Johnny G and TRX.  She has spent her entire adult life working in the area of health promotion, wellness and continuing education for healthcare providers.

Lisa was a college athlete and enjoyed participating in competitive events.  An injury lead her to a total hip replacement which made me rethink my fitness goals.  It was a humbling experience and gave her a new perspective on being fit.  Lisa now enjoys working with and learning from individuals throughout the spectrum of healthy living.

Cori Muilenberg

Group Fitness Instructor

Cori is a native of Grand Rapids, MI and graduate of GVSU with a bachelor's degree in Advertising and Public Relations. Health and wellness have always been a huge interest in her life. She is certified in Boxing & Group Fitness and is continuing her studies to add additional certifications in the future.

Outside of the studio, Cori stays active by biking, hiking at local parks and enjoying an occasional run or yoga class.

Henry Pena

Group Fitness Instructor

Henry was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan on the northeast side of town. As a proud Second Generation American, Henry says that he owes his “never say die” work ethic to his parents. “To them, I will always be grateful.”

After graduating high school, Henry attended Grand Valley State University.  Interests in science, medicine, and serving others influenced him in earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2001. After graduation, he worked locally in the hospital setting, as a Registered Nurse, for several years. With the knowledge and experience he attained, Henry wanted to give back and began working as a Clinical Educator. Henry was introduced to Allegro, by a friend, in December of 2016. Always being active in sports during his high school years, the two-week trial membership was all it took to reignite his athletic fire. “The team at Allegro empowered me to create long-term change in mind, body, and spirit. I discovered a community of like-minded people and feel blessed to have met them all.” With the encouragement of staff at Allegro, Henry has worked to attain his Group Exercise Certification through AFAA (Athletics and Fitness Association of America). His hope and goal is to give back to the community that he has come to enjoy so much.

Megan Smith

Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Instructor

Megan is a NASM certified personal trainer and certified Spin and TRX instructor. She has been training clients and teaching classes for over 5 years now. Growing up playing sports, Megan has always had a passion for being active. Megan has a degree in Elementary Education and while teaching, she felt something was missing and found comfort in running. After running 2 marathons, she realized her true passion was in fitness.

Megan loves challenging her clients and classes to push outside their comfort zones while still having fun. She currently teaches Rip and Ride, Cycling, Boxing, TRX, Circuits, Happy Hour, Pilates and Strength.
